Oh well, that failed to. On the 3rd screen it asks for:
Database Host
Database login name
Password
I entered those then clicked on
Test database server connection and view collations.
and received the reply:
Connection to host: failed!
Grrr
UK, so I’ve now created another database/username/password and re-attempted installing modx.
This time when clicking on ’Test database server connection and view collations.’ I got ’Connection to host: passed - collations now available’.
So the next part I left as default and clicked on ’Create or test selection of your database.’ and received:
Checking database: failed - could not create database.
Any ideas?
You need to fill in the Database name: field, with the name of the database you created earlier via phpMyAdmin
Oh Joy!
It’s finally installed thanks to your suggestions
Strewth! Looking at the System configuration this is where I really need to study rocket science.
Many thanks for your assistance.
(I’m sure) I’ll be back
