Modx slow?

Would the database coalition charset matter? Mine is latin1_swedish_ci.. it was either that or something else had to be changed when installing so i made the charset latin1_swedish_ci

No that should not be a problem. I had a really slow host. I complained and it turned out they needed to optimise mysql in some way. After than the Manager was far more responsive...

If it was my host wouldnt it effect my other websites with other CMSs?

Probably, if it was mysql it would effect any DB driven sites.
U have not answered the question, how long does it take to load a page in the manager (from the time you press edit till the time the page loads)

Can you try the following:

Go to Tools/Configuration/Site and remove the 2 links at the bottom:

-RSS News Feed
-RSS Security Feed

Save the links first

If it’s not better put them back in

That didnt change the speed

Did you rename the ht.access in the manager/ directory to .htaccess? The errors you were seeing at first are suspicious and making sure the RewriteEngine Off directive is in your manager/.htaccess may help.

yea its .htaccess right now.. is there anythin i should be changing in the file?
