[NETTUTS] Working With a Content Management Framework: MODx (great tutorial!!!)

Kudos Shane, nettuts has a nice reader base, it will definitely help modx !
Really nice tutorial, step by step modx discovery, this will become a classic !!!

I vote in favor of getting this translated by our language maintainers if you agree, starting with french

Also, spreading the word on Twitter as usual

Translate away. Not sure if Nettuts will object, I certainly won’t. Actually, I have already received a few requests for translations to Spanish and Portuguese. I was very pleased with the response to the tutorial, much higher than I expected. It is rare to not have any negative comments, and very little "my cms is better than yours" as well. Goes to show how hungry the web is for MODx. I have proposed a Part 2 article, let’s see if they like the idea

I have little doubt they will
This is great for modx indeed

I don’t see why nettuts would object, unless they offer content in languages other than english, which is not the case (to my knowledge).
I’ll make sure to set up a link to the original of course.

Great contribution!

The Wiki really needs a Tutorial page with links to all the various tutorials and screencasts (including this one).

Very good idea Bob. Care to set one up? I bet you can think of a few more to add to the mix.

I kind of suck at Wiki stuff. I can edit an individual page once it exists, but I don’t do so well at creating new pages that can be found easily. If someone will put up a tutorial page in the appropriate place, I’ll add some content to it.

I had to make it a bit long to make sure it gave a clear idea about stuff that us MODx-ers are accustomed to. Glad you liked it, hope there will be more to follow

Way to go!

I dugg it as soon as I noticed it. Everybody should socialbookmark this post.

@dev_cw, mods, etc....am just curious whether there has been an upsurge of hits on the forums/signing ups, etc since this tutorial was published on nettuts? Thanks.

Cheers/k

I noticed a number of new users (could be coincidental) but according to the stats there does not seem to have been any substatial change. The truth is that a large number of the people interested in the tut were already modx users so it would not necessarily generate much new traffic. But I think that there were a few immediately after it came out.

Thx for the update Shane..
