[NETTUTS] Working With a Content Management Framework: MODx (great tutorial!!!)

They just released a tutorial about modx on nettuts;
http://nettuts.com/tutorials/other/working-with-a-content-management-framework-modx/

I think it is a great tutorial for people who want to start with modx and for people who want to see how easy modx works!! The post is a little bit long, but it mentions everything to start with modx

I had to make it a bit long to make sure it gave a clear idea about stuff that us MODx-ers are accustomed to. Glad you liked it, hope there will be more to follow

wow that’s great!

lol, didn’t even realize it was you that made the post I didn’t read the whole text, but I saw that it pretty much tells something about every part of modx, thumbs up for you

Will this post be posted at the modx site or the wiki? I think it is a great addition!

I didn’t read the whole text

It is too long for a quick read. Need a a coffee break in the middle. It took forever to proofread

Will this post be posted at the modx site or the wiki? I think it is a great addition!

Not this exact post, maybe something else. It is very well located over at Nettuts and will give MODx some exposure outside our circle.

Nice to see how Twitter marketing works, Twitter is full of posts with a link to the blogpost now

Nice work Shane.

Nice work Shane.

Thanks, Zi. I hope it will be the first of many (but that is what I said about my lonely wiki post )

Wonderful stuff - the more people get to know how great Modx is the better

I felt compelled to comment on the tutorial:

I have used this for 50 odd client sites - it is really the easiest for clients to use against all others I have EVER come across once you learn template variables and use the ManagerManager plugin.

By using said ManagerManager plugin, you can rename ANY data entry point that is bespoke to the clients needs. Which means in real terms I spend no longer than 10 mins when handing it over as all the data entry and fields are so intuitive for each client.

In effect you are giving them a bespoke admin section. And it only takes minutes to set up for each client.

And believe me been doing this for over 10 years and tried, used and installed them all!

Here is to Modx and the team

Good job Shane!

I haven’t even read the tut yet but am sure it’s excellent! What a wonderful start to the year! Hope more and more people will be won over to modx......
