Displaying Articles

Hey everyone I am new to modx and I have read/tried every thing I have been able to find about trying to display a simple list of articles under a parent on a page. I have tried blog tutorials, copying the test site blog, displaying articles with other snippets, and none of them work. It just says no documents found. Could anyone help me out here? I have an "Articles" container with 3 documents under it named Article 1, Article 2, & Article 3. I put the ditto code under Articles with the id set to 5 (Articles id is 5).

Thank you for responding. I check out that link... I have everything setup but no matter what I try it always says "Showing 0 of 0 articles"... I have three articles in the container, any ideas what would cause none of my ditto tries to find the articles.

Please show us your ditto call! Are the docs published and checked show in menu?

I found this in one of the many tutorials....

I am placing this in my blog container content area (the blog container is id=5).

All of the articles are in the blog container.

Check out your ditto version ---> replace startID with &parents=`5`

also I made that change and still cannot find the documents

Add &debug=`1` to the ditto call and use the Debug console to see what Ditto is seeing.

Also we can eliminate all extra parameters and concentrate on simply getting the documents. Will this simple call work?

No even the simple call will not work... when I click open debug I get the same page I am looking at. I figured there is something really simple I am doing wrong.
