if I try the forgot password, when I click on the link in the email it goes to the site and then just refreshes itself to the login, I am afraid that the username/password did not travel over in the sql backup....

Hi, Just seen your post for help on Twitter.

The error on your site indicates a problem with the sessions save path, does this exist and if so do you have read/write access to it?

Also I’m not too sure what you mean about the username and password did not carry across in the SQL database, if perhaps this did not transfer over their might be other info in your database missing.

Everything in the database transferred i just compared everything, where is the save path for me to edit? I am not sure if it exists or not. When I navigate to the manager section and input my username and pw it simply refreshes the page and does not grant me access to the manager section, but it does not tell me the username or password in incorrect...

Your PHP.INI file states that your session save path is this:

                    session.save_path /var/php_sessions /var/php_sessions

so you will need check that this folder exists and that you have the correct permissions to it, you can change the default path in your PHP.INI.

The other thing you need to do when ever moving a site between servers or OS Versions is update your paths in MODx Manager i.e. on your windows install the path would be something like c:\inetpub\wwwroot but on your linux prod server it should be /home/users/web/b1791/ipw.cristcom/public_html/
