PHx is awesome and takes modx and the preinstalled snippets to an higher level.
Google MapMarker, SSL Encryption (select by doc or template). Sitemap Snippet (include by doc or template),
SMF Bridge, Joco Jot Module, TreasureChest, Star Rating, Any Rating...
WebLoginPE seems really cool but I use showmember, webprofile and UserPlaceholders (same as webloginPE)
to custom my pages. With the SMF Bridge there is no stop here.
Have learned a lot PHP by seing snippet code and customize it for my needs. Webusers can add weblink docs
front end and edit text boxes (striped comment boxes by jot), upload files and Im working on fields that they
can use to style the css of their profile.
Sottwell.com has a PHP script that reads an e-amil inbox and by title selects messages to publish the content
right on the webpage.
But modx is awesome how you can use it with others to work, restrict them down and how cool it is when someone
cant access a page because someone is in there and working already....
