WAMP and XAMPP are both standalone servers so to speak. You just need to install one of the apps and you will have Apache, MySQL and PHP installed right out of the box with all the necessary addons. If you want to go that route, here are the links.You don’t need both apps. Pick one...

I’ve just hit this problem when installing a fresh version of Evolution 1.0.3 on IIS6 with PHP 5.2.6.

Perhaps it’s just an issue with our server but I had to install 1.0.2 and then upgrade to 1.0.3.
