Well I’m developing a site in Modx ( 1 of many ) and needed to update about 300 pages to set them as searchable, then also set them as cacheable.

After doing the first 30 or so I thought to myself there must be a easier way of doing this, this is Modx for gods sake and the developeres think about these things.

Wana say a big thankyou to the developer team here as I found the way to do mass updates to selected files in the click of a button, took me about 10 seconds to update everything.

It’s for this reason I love Modx.

Every thought goes into the manager side of it, then every thought goes into the user side of it, then if anything is missed the community jumps in and assists and just makes it 100% better.

Goto be the best CMS ever created for both user and site owner, and thats coming from someone that would have slept with Wordpress 12 months ago lol.

Keep up the good work and where can I donate to the team to help support the development huh????

Good to hear. I agree, modx has got to be the best CMS I’ve used. I’ve got a coworker that tries to get me to convert to Joomla!, but I just can’t do it. Modx has stolen my heart wink

LOL I knew I wouldn’t be the only one.

Log into your manager and click Modules, then from there you can do loads of things. For me I had to alter the searchable settings from all docu under ID6, so I just clicked other properties and selected what I wanted to do from the dropdown, then at the bottom entered 6**and clicked submit grin

Then just did the same to make them cacheable, then did the same and changed the template they used.

God this is a good CMS cool

Great story paulp. Mind if we use some stuff on the new marketing site said above?

And for reference, it’s the Doc Manager module by Garry Nutting that let’s you bulk update stuff. Combined with the Doc Finder module from Bogdan Gunther you’ve got a pretty darned powerful set of site-updating tools. smiley

I think Shane was joking, modx expert users all know about the DocManager module (and enjoy it !)

Leave a trail of solutions to help others find the answers.

Actually I used the DocManager more when I was a noob since I had to correct mistakes in my planning while I learned the "modx way". Now I use it more to fix clients lack of planning when they change the site format last minute and I have to juggle documents around. DocManager rocks ! shocked
