    i’m glad it helped smiley

    i think background-attachment:fixed; won’t work with IE6
IE6 only interprets background fixed when applied to the body element
    http://pmob.co.uk/faqcss/tutorial06/index.htm
    maybe there’s a good workaround

      Hello,

If your still having problems you might want to validate your page and css code. Also if you could post a screenshot of how the page should look that would be helpful. (looks the same in IE7/FF3 so either fixed or both are busted)

Thats the ’look’ that I’ve kind of imagined.. - > Thats without logos and everything.. just ’basic’ background..

Thats without the right side menu...
Hence.. I think I’ll be really having problems with the upper ’top right’ menu...

        We’ll see!

But I think I’ll manage to make the page look ’normal’ today.. hopefully with some tricks and help from some friends on the phone .. hehe smiley
The problem is the second grey ’box’ that doesn’t scratch and I really have to figure out how to slice it so it will be wider if neccessary...

About the upper top menu I rather not think about yet.. because thats not for the current topic.

        REgards,
        hope the image works..

...so the white part with the menu should stay fixed/not scroll on the site?

Yes the right red menu should stay fixed.

I managed now to do that. I just need to check howto make all the ’menu names’ in the same line..
And I think the 1024x768 resolution works out very fine..

You can check all on the page:

I’ll just have to make the new ’grey part’ (I’ll probably insert a gallery in there) cause that was causing tooo much problems...

So some photoshoping for me to do ... and then I think the basic look must be finished.

Thanks everyone for the current help, ofcourse additional tips are welcome, after all it actually my first project using the MODx CMS...

            Regards,
            Rok

My recommendation for coding websites (/testing) is to get things working in Firefox first and then break your sites for IE using conditional CSS sheets.

That being said the first problem with the header is due to (background-attachment:fixed;) which should be removed. This will fix the image placement. As for creating the "frame" affect and having the banner fixed to the top of the window I would suggest you look at this template: http://www.demo.amdbuilder.net/progress/index.php

It accomplishes the scrolling affect so the code might help you some. It work in IE6/7 and FF3. Also I still recommend you fix the validation issues so we can eliminate them as problems.

Also while the screen shot is helpful ideally if you could post the desired final outcome that would be a little more helpful as we could see where you expect to have content.

              Thanks
