    Just to clarify here:

@Magnatron, they gotta re-design their homepage and forum - but the cloud is I think the only thing that brings them money so those stuff are on the back-burner.

We should be launching a new modx.com soon. It's never been on the backburner. We have completed the new logins/authentication, we're working now on Extras. At the same time we're wrapping up content on a new simpler marketing site.

As far as the forums are concerned, we'll be archiving the current forums for posterity and starting a new forums using something like Discourse. We are definitely not interested in developing and maintaining forum software.

We're a small team and we do need to do the things that earn us a living such as operating and supporting Cloud, provide services to companies that come to us for work, and make introductions from businesses that need a MODX Professional.

It takes longer for us to do something like a site redesign because it's not a site. We relaunched a marketing site quickly in 2015 but left everything else behind on the old designs from 2010-2012. The Extras infrastructure, administration and management interfaces are not simple applications and were tightly coupled to our authentication system and users. We've been working on decoupling these for years between projects, software releases and everything else. We're nearly there.

      Thanks for clarifying, Jay.

I'm not completely sold on the proposed design you attached, but I'm assuming thats just a very rough draft smiley especially given the wordpress code in the macbook pro! wink

It's great to see and know things are being worked on for the main site though. *cheer*

The greatest compliment you can give back to us, is to spend a few seconds leaving a rating at our trustpilot: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/alienbuild.uk about the service we provided. We always drop mention of services offered by businesses we've worked with in the past to those of interest.

I thought I was the only person who quickly gravitated and started squinting at the macbook screen

Harden your MODX site by passwording your three main folders: core, manager, connectors and renaming your assets (thank me later!)
5 ways to sniff / hack your own sites; even with renamed/hidden folders, burst them all up, to see how secure you are not.

          Liam,

Of course the image is a placeholder. My aim was to show that it is in progress and we're putting the CMS front and center again. The copy will be changed over time. That said, I guarantee someone will find objection no matter what we do. I can't wait for the criticisms to roll in. Design is subjective, IA is subjective, UX is subjective, copy writing is subjective. All we can do is do our best and keep trying to improve while working to grow this businesses.

I do understand if people feel the kid is unprofessional. I get that. Some people have different expectations when it comes to what's considered professional. We're more than okay with letting the kid go and we will shortly.

I send clients this -> https://modx.com/get-modx/security It is super effective.

Ooh that is a good one

Right? I like how they show with numbers how more secure MODx is. I also have this pages printed and I bring it to client interviews.

Thanks Stefany! It works for me too. I believe these numbers should be updated a bit taking into account last July vulnerabilities (it is all on hearing)

Didn't mean to say anything bad about MODX team, lots of stuff are on my back-burner that don't bring me money - we all have to earn a living and the bank doesn't accept "we did artistic stuff" checks.

I like the new design, you might want to remove "flexibility" since it is so overused. For best results, make a poll to MODX users and ask them why they prefer working with MODX from the plethora of other CMS-es. As for the hero image, when it is something invisible as a service it is best to display how the client will "feel" after using it - so if you emphases on security you can display a person laying on the beach - i.e. MODX is so secure you can take a vacation in peace!

You can also link "secure CMS" to a page similar to this one - https://modx.com/get-modx/security with the comparison tables proving how secure it is! And then you can link to Sucuri reports - https://sucuri.net/reports/2017-hacked-website-report

You are welcome Tarasov. Even with the July numbers MODx still beats the other CMSes!
