    This has been annoying me for ages. The homepage, the URL one would like to send potential customers to, looks like MODX is all about geeky looking nerds with a bad sense of humor.
    Who in their right mind will trust kids with ice-cream to be a solid part of their online presence?
    Every time a potential client asks me to send them some info about MODX, I'm 100% sure they will get a totally wrong 1st impression.

    Am I alone in this?

      Unfortunately I have to agree. I usually send a link to the downloads page, not the home page.
        If I help you out on these forums I would be very grateful if you would consider rating me on Trustpilot: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/andytough.com

            That's great and we all know it's a much wiser choice but it doesn't change the fact that the 1st thing most people see about MODX is completely unrepresentative. I cringe every time I go to the homepage and a client is looking over my shoulder.

              Right? I like how they show with numbers how more secure MODx is. I also have this pages printed and I bring it to client interviews.

                Are your clients tech-savvy? In my experience, non-tech savvy clients doesn't care about the CMS as long as the website works & they can edit stuff in an admin panel.

                  After some self-proclaimed image analyst sent me this feedback (see attached image), I just give people this technical more serious link
                  https://github.com/modxcms/revolution ... :;

                    TinymceWrapper: Complete back/frontend content solution.
                    Harden your MODX site by passwording your three main folders: core, manager, connectors and renaming your assets (thank me later!)
                    5 ways to sniff / hack your own sites; even with renamed/hidden folders, burst them all up, to see how secure you are not.

                    Still doesn't change that it completely misrepresents what MODX is. It's not our task to circumvent the homepage of our weapon of choice right?

                      @Magnatron, they gotta re-design their homepage and forum - but the cloud is I think the only thing that brings them money so those stuff are on the back-burner.
                      I do agree with you that the homepage is confusing to a "normal" person - however it depends on the tech-savinest of the clients.
