Hi
My developer is on his hols and I have just come across an issue with one of my sites that I have no idea how to put right!
Due to the lovely GDPR regs we have all needed to sort out, this site has been changed from an http:// to an https:// hosting.... and now the the navigation doesn't work.
I have learned quite a bit about the inner workings of MODX but can't find how to sort this out - and, as you may imagine, my client is on my case!
The site is in Evo 1.2.1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ruth

I have not used Evo for a long time so I can't offer any first hand advice.
However there may be something here:
https://forums.modx.com/thread/99518/evo-ssl-htaccess#dis-post-538189
This article is for Revo, but contains some good general information that may be applicable.
https://www.markhamstra.com/modx/2012/07/3-tips-for-serving-a-modx-site-over-ssl/
Could you give a more detailed explanation of what it is about the navigation does not work?

1.You must create an SSL certificate (for example, free Let's Encrypt)
This can be a function in your hosting panel if you are using shared hosting, but if you are using a virtual or physical server, you need to do this yourself and require some knowledge of Unix shell.
2. Config MODX: Configuration > Server Type > https (I worked with EVO 10 years ago, can be wrong).
3. Clear Cache
4. Force HTTPS Using the .htaccess directive.

@argonaut2k +1
Also you need to know what server you are on - not all SSL directives will work in the .htaccess
I have just converted 6 sites from http to https and two of them needed different directives due to different hosts
I am not a server crack, so it took quite some time to find out what was required and whether or not WWW was required as well
IMPORTANT NOTE
You should update to the latest version of EVO ASAP, your version is no-longer supported and could be prone to hackers

Who are you hosting with ?
Have you set the server type in the config: configuration => Site Tab => Server Type - change to HTTPS

hi
All three sites that I have just changed over to SSL are on the same server with the same hosting company. Two of the sites are fine - the hosting company changed it all over for me and put the SSL certificates in place too.
However...the third and troublesome website is hosted with me, but the domain is hosted elsewhere and I had the devil's own job to get them to add the correct text for the secure server, so the certificate has only just been activated today.
Could it be that it is something to do with the domain settings?
Regarding the Evo upgrade - I did have a lot of hacking issues last year and had all my sites upgraded to what I was told is the latest version of Evo before it became Revo. Are you telling me that this is not the latest version?
Also, I paid for and downloaded a piece of software that was supposed to make it easy to move my sites from Evo to Revo, but my developer cannot make head nor tail of it. Any suggestions or help gratefully received!
