I was about to submit my request to jira when I think I have a solution; If I were to change somehow the ’Document parent’ to display a drop down of available containers VS having to manually expend and select the container it’ll result in what I wanted.

Remember that you can click on the little folder next to "Document Parent" on the document create/edit screen and then click on the parent folder you want in the tree. The tree has to be expanded first, but it’s a pretty easy way of placing documents.
yes that’s exactly what I’m referring to. problem comes when your doc is nested deep down and you want to avoid expending the tree. If I could change the behavior of clicking the link and choosing the parent in tree with a drop down of container documents it’ll be easier in my case I would think.
