Is there a support for custom role ( Author, Editor, Contributor, just like wordpress ) ?
In MODX, this would most likely be done by assigning users to User Groups (you can name the groups Author, Editor, and Contributor if you like) and controlling the permissions available to members of each group.
It could also be done by putting all the users in one group and controlling their permissions by setting their "Authority Level" in the group, but I recommend against this because it's much more complicated, tedious, and error prone than putting them in different User Groups.
