Sweet. Now that articles is up and running let's get an excellent e-commerce system for MODX!
      • There is minishop2, which is very nice - if you read Russian. http://bezumkin.ru/modx/minishop2/

There are a few options out there, but not an excellent offering. When it comes to e-commerce I have always gone elsewhere, I use MODX for everything else.

I think there will never be a full-featured e-commerce-system for MODX, but its not too difficult to 'bridge' MODX with one.
Currently we are working on 'bridging' prestashop with MODX, which, IMO, makes much more sense, than trying to build a whole excellent e-commerce-system native for MODX

I agree with the can't beat 'em join 'em philosophy here. Whether or not to "roll our own" or integrate with other e-commerce solutions was one of the main topics of the open mic discussions at MODXpo 2012.

I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat.

With that said, I truly believe this (lack of a true e-commerce extra) is one of the remaining key assets that would drive a step change in the growth MODX.

                  Susan,

I'm surprised they haven't translated anything other than the Quick Start into English. I'll PM bezumkin and offer to translate it into Russian. I love a good challenge smiley

                  Regards,
                  Tom

Pretty sure Susan already tried that.
                    • Well, I did two of the pdoTools snippets (pdoMenu and pdoUsers) but it's almost as hard to "translate" the Google translation into something at least approaching usefulness as it is to write documentation from scratch. The Russian community has a number of really nice extras, obviously well-documented. Maybe some kind of community funding project to get some of them translated?
