Did you transfer the files individually with FTP? If so, you may have a corrupted or missing file. It happens fairly often when doing it that way.

If you did, see this for a more reliable (and faster) method: http://bobsguides.com/modx-upgrade-faq.html

If it's not that, it might be a permission or ownership issue with one of the MODX directories. Is there anything in the MODX error log (Reports -> Error Log).

My error log is empty. As told you in other post, tried reinstalling but the problem is still there.

Something strange has happened. Before reinstalling the TV tab appeared and was working fine for new documents and my problems were only when updating a resource. Now the TV tab doesnt' appear at all when creating a new document. The error updating is still the same.

EDIT: It was my mistake, I was creating a new document in a context with no TVs assigned. The problem is still the same reported at first.

Just to test, I tried to uninstall VersionX but the problem is the same.
I have installed Gallery, wich uses TVs, but I think it's not causing the problem because in other contexts where I don't use it the problem is the same.
My MODX installation is Multicontext, but my problem happens with both users ( admin, and context access only ).

Thanks Bob, I'll give your install a shot. I have been using FTP as the foundation of the upgrade. I was about to try a wget to rule out any FTP issues, but I think I'll give your method a go first.

As for the permissions issues - having tried this multiple times now - I have opened up everything with 777 access before to no avail. So, I think I've ruled that out, but you never know.

On many hosts, 777 causes a problem. if suPHP is running, for example, you need 755/644 for files/folder and 777 on a file will actually crash things.

One other thing to try is disabling *all* plugins..

                Hi,
I have the same issue. Does a solution exist for that?

                What happened?
                1. Modx 2.2.1 was running
                2. Modx upgrade to 2.2.4
                3. The TV tab on resources->documents (new and edit) was lost ...
                4. Error Log is empty

                System:
                Win-Server, Apache 2.2.21, PHP 5.3.8, MySQL 5.1.59

Try manually deleting all files in the core/cache directory and clearing your browser cache and cookies.

If that doesn't work, check to see if those TVs are still connected to the Template of the Resource being edited and make sure that neither the Template, nor the TVs are protected by any ACL entries or Form Customization rules.

Is there any update to this? I have just installed 2.2.4 from 2.2.0 and my template variables tab is missing. I have tried both settings in the system settings to try to make it show as a tab and below the editor, no luck at all. Everything is fine on the templates & template variables as far as 'if it should show and where'. I know my content is not deleted because everything is still working as if there was template variables...I just cant access them. Anyone have any ideas?
