Ecommerce still impossible in MODX

There's another Russian group working on shopMODx (http://modxclub.ru/blog/vehicles/252.html), but I don't know a lot about it. They used it here http://unichoc.ru/ which is certainly a gorgeous site, so if the shopping cart works as well as the site looks it'll be worth checking out. I'm told the docs for it will be translated in a few more months.

I am representative of ModxClub.ru.

Though I am not an experienced website developer (I do mostly SEO and marketing) I can tell you some general information about our e-commerce solution.

Developing an e-commerce extra is not an easy process and shopMODX is still under development. We planned to release the stable public version with English documentation in 2-3 months, but after seeing the interest from English speaking developers we have just decided to implement core translation into the next release. I don’t think that the next release will contain documentation, but we will try to add translation of basic elements.

Though the extra is under development our team created several e-commerce websites using shopMODX. One of them is http://unichoc.ru/. The other great site is http://www.euro-shina.ru/.

Well, that page does show English main menu items, but the page content is all in Russian, so it's not much help.

I would love to see a screen capture walk-through. It would be very helpful in helping to understand how it works and some of the capabilities.

I think most of us were more interested in the back-end. How are products managed? How are delivery options, tax options and payment options managed? How about records of customers and of sales? Any special provisions for multi-language sites?

The YouTube looks good. We're going to give ShopModx a try on a clean Modx install over the coming weeks and see. Modx has always lacked a good e-comm solution - has anyone else been inspired to try ShopModx since the previous post?

We just went live using it on this site. thewineracks.com. So far it works pretty good. You only have the option to use paypal checkout though. I'm working on linking it to to stripe.
