    UPDATE

    Little history

It started as a question towards Campaign Monitor:
"Hello good people from Campaign Monitor, On the Downloads & Plugins page there are some really nice plugins for easy integration with different CMS systems. Are there plans to include a plugin for the MODx CMS?"

After a view Tweets Campaign Monitor answered:
"CampaignMonitor@expanism Thanks, we def know *of* the CMS, just no experience with it. If we get loads of requests we would consider our own plugin. ^DG6:47 AM Jul 1st from CoTweet in reply to expanism"

    So I started a petition at twitition.com:

Campaign Monitor also posted it on their twitter page:

Just wondering who is the campaign aimed at...will Campaign Monitor build the plugin or the MODx community or is it aimed at the MODx dev team?

        • What specifically do you want the "integration" to do. I would suspect just to be able to push over Webusers?

Personally I think that the features of the "Wordpress Subscriber Plugin" and the "ExpressionEngine Extension" are really amazing. But that is not up to me, I just asked Campaign Monitor if they had plans to build a plugin for MODx and they are willing to consider building one if there a loads of request for it. Thats why I started the petition.

So now, it is up to the MODx community to make it a success.

I noticed they support Joomla, wordpress and Drupal.

I use Modx at work and at home and use Campaign Monitor frequently, a Modx plug would be great.

Hi guys, Blake from Campaign Monitor here. We’re just investigating what would be involved in creating our own plugin for MODx CMS, and we were wondering what sort of features you guys envisioned for this plugin (the more detail the better).

Also, we’re not really familiar with developing for MODx CMS, so we’ll probably need a bit of hand-holding. tongue Are there any problems with compatibility between Revolution and Evolution – if we develop this for Revolution would it still be compatible with Evolution or is the API completely different?

Great News! I am by no means a MODx expert - but hugely excited at a Campaign Monitor plugin for MODx being created as this will simplify workflow for many many clients! Taking 2 fab tools and making them work together has only got to be a good thing! Look forward to seeing how the plugin could work and the features it will bring!

                      Great news!

It would be good to create the subscription form using an AJAX approach as offered with this code:

                      http://www.campaignmonitor.com/downloads/ajax-subscription-form/

We have created an addition to a MODx site using the code above and displaying the subscription form within a Facebox over the top of the page:

                      http://famspam.com/facebox

It’s not live as yet so I can’t point you to a demo but a fully fledged plug-in would be awesome!

We have also provided a fall-back for those without JavaScript.
