hello a silly cuestion
how to update a site from tech 3.0 to 3.1 (and future relases)
i think is easy but i dont want enythig wrong

1. Make a backup of your config.inc.php file (just to be sure)
2. Make a backup of your database (just to be sure)
3. Copy all the new files over the old (overwrite when asked)
4. Run the installer and select update (www.yourdomain.com/install)
5. Remove the install dir if its not done by the installer
6. Thats it.
step 1 and 2 are not essetial but are wize steps in the slim case that somthing does mess up the install (like a terminated internet conection etc)

FYI, it’s not done yet, but we are planning a full blown upgrade and staging-to-deployment server migration guide for the new support site at modxcms.com. Thanks for helping push this one up in the priority queue... and definitely a great question and response. Thanks!

DONT FORGET
make a copy from assets/site/style.css whith the changes in the site template css (if not it wil be lost if no backup)

Hi xyzvisual
I would recommend that you put your template stuff inside the assets/templates/{templatename}/ folder, where {templatename} is the name of your template (without spaces or special characters)
example
assets/templates/bluetheme/styles.css
