MODx 2.0.4 (Revolution); Wayfinder 2.1.3-rc1; Safari 5.0.3 (viewing as user through front-end); Firefox 3.6.12 (Manager).

&startid did not work as described in the e-book. Using &debug it looked as though the parameter &id does what is described in the e-book as &startid. I don’t know whether this is a Wayfinder bug or a change in moving to Revolution. In any case, using &id appears to work for me.

You did a terrific amount of work putting the document together and so far I’ve only scratched the surface. Some skimming ahead in my reading tells me that Wayfinder will give me all the control I want.

Thanks for sharing this with the community.

Could it be because it’s &startId, not &startid? wink

          I made it:

          Wayfinder call:
          [[Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &outerTpl=`wf-OuterTpl` &rowTpl=`wf-RowTpl` &removeNewLines=`FALSE`]]

          Outer Template chunk:
          <ul id="nav" class="grid_24">
          [[+wf.wrapper]]</ul>

          Row Template chunk:
          <li><a class="grid_3" href="[[+wf.link]]" title="[[+wf.title]]">[[+wf.linktext]]</a></li>

&removeNewLines=`FALSE` was crucial to stop removing newlines.

          Problem solved..

            Many thanks for this E-book.

Thanks to this, i go on with MODx. It has also learned me a lot of MODx!!
This E-book was the trigger for me, to convince myself that MODx was what i was looking for. grin
            • Indeed, a close examination of Wayfinder and how it works is a good way to learn how MODx works. This flexibility while maintaining its ability to do one thing excellently without becoming a bloated jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none is a hallmark of "the MODx Way".

                      Thanks Kongondo!

I believe the book is no longer attached, after the MODX forum switch.

I believe it can be downloaded here:
