    Hi opengeek,

    please, please again.

We urgently need a button or a shortcut to only clear the content of the page right working on. Our site-editors very often make changes never affecting menus or links at all. They just change single words or letters in the text of the content field maybe about ten times an hour which means a cleared cache very 6 minutes and making our sites so slow many people are not willing to visit the sites anymore.

For this it is very important to have a shortcut/button which only clears the page working on and not clearing menus or links. What do you think, how much work is it to realize such a function? Is it a big deal to create such a button or shortcut?

    Please, please ...

Thanks a lot for this hint!! Uncacher could be the solution for our issue.

@opengeek Do you think uncacher is proper to use for this issue or do you have any concerns when looking at the code of this package?

Edit: Just for explanation: 10 minutes ago there was a message in this thread by "rainbowtiger" recommending the package "uncacher". This message was obviously deleted right now. [ed. note: lettis last edited this post 11 years, 9 months ago.]

        Hi opengeek,
do you think the package 'uncacher' is an appropriate tool for making caching of modx better or do you have any concerns when looking at the code of this package?

I have not looked at this package, but will add it to my list and follow up when I can. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Lettis, I'm afraid the extra I was working on got deleted accidentally and I don't have a backup. I'm swamped right now getting ready for MODXpo, where I'm doing two presentations. I hope to get back to it in December or January.

Sorry I can't be more help right now.

Does anybody have news about an addon or plugin to make a selective cache clearance of only a single resource?

This feature would be very important to enable normal working as it is necessary on huge websites for editors ...

I use a modified xFCP (which saves the cached resources in folders with the resource id as name, instead of all in one folder) to bypass these cache problems and just implemented a custom function which enables me (with the help of quickBar) to clear only the xfcp cache + normal cache for one resource (with help of https://github.com/modxcms/revolution/pull/428) the same goes when saving a resource (only the xfcp clearer, there lies the main problem, I cannot stop the save action from clearing everything =D)...but because xfcp cache is still there after a save for most resources, the perfomance drop isn't so bad (only for the just saved resource it's noticable)...I didn't have issues with it until now, but this solution is really not how it should be and probably it also depends on how your site is built to say if it works or not =), but at the moment I don't have time to go into this deeper...maybe also worth a try: http://devries.jp/blog/2012/11/26/zap-your-cacheing-issues-with-getcache-and-cachebuster/

I've started work on a plugin to do this. Hopefully, it won't be too long.
