    Hi there,

i am looking to upgrade a MODX website to the latest stable version of MODX (which i am assumming is 2.4.3-pl, based on the downloads page?). I am hoping to make use of BobRays Dashboard Widget to do this. The current website though is version 2.2.14-pl, so quite old - can i update straight to the latest version, or is the recommendation to update in intervals, and if so, any ideas of in which order?

    Thanks for your advice!

In most cases you can update straight to the latest version.

It should be very safe. However, I've had weird issues in the past with permission problems and things. Before you do it, make sure you back up your config file. I've had mine wiped before (not specifically from Bob's script) but upgrades that've failed in the past. His upgrades are pretty solid.

I would upgrade to 2.3.0, then 2.3.6, then 2.4.0 first, just to be on the safe side. There are some changes to the database between your version and the current one that can be missed if you make too big a jump. With UpgradeMODX it doesn't take very long.
