    So I’m building a site that has 2 Wayfinder snippets on each page. My client needs the ability to be able to add rel="nofollow" tags to certain documents in the top Wayfinder independently of the bottom Wayfinder output. So if the client wanted the "Blog" document in the top Wayfinder navigation call to have
    rel="nofollow"

    but then "Blog" in the bottom navigation won’t have rel="nofollow".

    I saw this thread that obviously explains how to put "nofollow" in Wayfinder which is easy enough (http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,12914.msg85467.html#msg85467), but can I simply put a T.V. in that document (in this case "Blog") that will allow me to control whether that document allows the "nofollow" tag globally in Wayfinder? Also I see in the attributes for any document I can simply add
    rel="nofollow"

    as show here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=12905.0

    But I’m not quite sure how I could get the 2 Wayfinder snippets to work independently.

    Hope that makes sense.

      You can put the attribute in the document’s Attributes field, but it will only be used if you have the [+wf.attributes+] placeholder in your menu’s templates. So have the two menus use different row templates, one that uses the placeholder and one that doesn’t.

        Hey Susan,

        Thank you for the idea. I was thinking about doing that as well but I guess I was wondering if T.V.’s could be introduced into the Wayfinder tpl which I couldn’t get it to do.

        Thanks for your advice!

          Flinx,

          This is how you reference a TV within a Wayfinder tpl [+template_variable_name+]

            I tried that approach but with no luck. Will have to try it again.

              Try with [+wf.tv_name+] .... just a wild guess.

                [+TV+] is definitely the correct way to do it: http://modxcms.com/Wayfinder-868.html

                Are you by any chance using @INHERIT in your TV? That has been discussed in the forums as causing problems; @INHERIT may not work with WF. Read here:

                  TVs do work in Wayfinder by default. I just tested it and it worked by simply adding [+theTvName+] in the rowTpl. I don’t think that they will work on the inner or outer tpl since these are limited to the wf placeholders.

                  If you cannot get them to work you can use the getField snippet in the wayfinder tpl to return a TV value.

                    Shane is right. Seems the only place holders that will work with outertpl and innertpl are wf.classes, wf.classnames and wf.wrapper
