    I’ve recently moved my modx page, but I now can’t log in to the manager. When I click the ’Login’ button, the form greys out, but nothing happens. I have to refresh the page before I can change the content in the form again. There is no alert box to say that the user name or password is incorrect, regardless of whether the form fields are filled or not.

    I think this is something I’ve got wrong in the system settings, which I’ve been having a look at in the database, but can’t see what to change! Has anyone else had this before?

    Cheers,
    Mike

      Did you move all of the files, and do they have the correct permissions on the new server?

        I moved everything, and following the instructions here - http://modxcms.com/moving-sites-to-new-servers.html - changed the following permissions:
        * /assets/cache (and all files ending with .php in this directory)
        * /assets/images
        * /assets/files
        * /assets/flash
        * /assets/media
        * /assets/snippets/GoogleEvents/cache/

        I noticed that elsewhere you’ve suggested running the install / update when a site is moved. Think that would help here?

          It certainly won’t hurt. You also might want to make sure you don’t have any old cookies hanging around in your browser.

            Thanks for your hep with this.

            I think I’ll just try a clean install and see how I get on setting things up again - just thought someone might have seen this before.

            I’ve run the update, but the manager’s still not logging in. I’ve noticed that each time I click login, and nothing happens in the browser, it is adding a row to the _manager_log table as ’logged in’.
            Is there anything which needs configured besides the filemanager_path?

            Cheers,
            Mike

              That definitely sounds like a cookie problem.

              Make sure your browser’s cache and cookies are cleared.

                Thanks again for all your help with this. I tried clearing cookies as well as trying it on various browsers on different machines.

                In the end, I did a clean install on the server and imported the tables with the site content in them to it, and it’s up and running again.
