How would I ... Directory + Calendar

I'm wondering how one wold approach the following:

Easy Stuff (use collections or something)
Band / Venue Directory Site
- Bands listed on their own landing page
- Venues listed on their own landing page

Not so easy? Nice to have but really the best feature (maybe)
Each Band / Venue has a calendar of events but should tie into one another. Meaning, if Band A is playing at Venue B, then it should show up.

Initial thoughts is having a master calendar that is able to link to the bands/venues by their ID ... but how then would the calendar display on the individual band/venue to show only the events for that venue/band

Not sure how that works. Will look into documentation.


The scope of this pretty unique, maybe? The functionality exists on their current site (by another developer), but not sure how to replicate in MODX:

• Client Logs in > Choses to Add/Edit Events
• Client Chooses a Band and edits their calendar (it's all one calendar db currently)
• Client can enter in even information plus ..
• Client enters event price and then can calculate his commission
• Client then can print the calendar as the "contract" for his band to sign off on
