  • Hello Bob,

Today, i've got a problem : i need to add a few fields to the users.
Like you said in your blog, the user extended fields are not exactly what i need.
I found you classExtender Class, and after reading the docs : Youpeee ! This is exactly what i need !

    So i installed it,
I tried to modify the XML schema to fill my needs
    But it didn't work… sad
    - Generating class and map files
    - Saving schema
    - Could not open schema file

So i tried to do like you said in your doc page : uninstall/reinstall it, leave all as default, and try again…
Again, failed : Could not open schema file

I already installed a few extensions, so i made a clean modx install,
downloaded and install your extension first,
and try with the default setting you provided : Failed.

File permission problem ? but where ? Why ?

Thanks you in advance for your answer,
and thanks again for all i already learn from you.

Well, after a good sleep, this morning i tried to find myself,
i set core/components/classextender/model to 755, and apply to subfolders,
and it seems to work fine…

thank you. [ed. note: _lol_ last edited this post 8 years, 3 months ago.]

I'm glad you got it sorted. smiley

I wonder why the permissions were wrong to begin with. You might want to check the permissions on the core/components directory.
