What does the error log say? There is the MODX installation log, the error log. Both in core/cache/logs.
Also check your PHP error log, and the Apache access logs.
Also go into the database, find the system_settings table, and the compress_css and compress_js entries. Change them both from 1 to 0.
Hi
Thanks no much for getting back to me....
The entries in system_settings were already changed to 0 yesterday with nothing getting any better.
I have also just made things worse by deleting all folders in /core/cache... Now I just get a blank white page?
Can someone help me please?
Is there anyway to rebuild the cache?
I have deleted all the folders in the /core/cache directory and now I just have a wight screen.
A white screen often means a PHP error. As Susan suggested, look in both the PHP and Apache error logs. If you don't understand the error, post it here and somebody may be able to help.
It happened straight after I deleted all folders from /core/cache? The /core/cache directory is now totally empty.
The PHP logs are not in core/cache. In my case (Ubuntu) they are in var/log/apache2. The PHP log is called errors.log. The fact that the white screen happened after you cleared the cache probably means that the cache was able to supply you with a page, but once cleared, the errors (whatever they might be) stopped any page being displayed.
Hi Guys, is this forum the best place for support or is there somewhere else I can get help?
Many Thanks
Forums are one place for support, there are also several other places but unless you give info on your server config everyone guesses at the answer.
Give info on your server config
Try uploading the files again and re run setup in upgrade mode as you may have corrupt files
