Storing the Site Tree Path for displaying breadcrumbs

Im not sure how to approach this, Im loading custom data from a database which is displayed according to Resource Choices with breadcrumbs e.g

Home > Cat A > Sub Cat A > Display Page (With database Data)

However I dont want to have a display page for the end database result in each category of the tree structure, I just want to use the one display page.

in doing this i lose the breadcrumb trail as im no longer in the hierarchy, it would just switch to Home > Display Page

Does anyone have any ideas how I would still preserve the breadcrumb hierarchy on a floating page for different sections or is it something that just cannot be done?
