Answered White Screen

    I'm new to MODX and am trying to install it locally on my machine on MAMP to get familiar with it. I Everything goes ok until I click on install and I get a white screen. I've gone through the trouble shooting section and have had no luck. Here's the PHP error I get:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function setProperties() on null in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/modx/core/model/modx/modmanagerresponse.class.php:191 Stack trace: #0 /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/modx/core/model/modx/modmanagerresponse.class.php(73): modManagerResponse->instantiateController('SecurityLoginMa...', 'getInstance') #1 /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/modx/core/model/modx/modmanagerrequest.class.php(180): modManagerResponse->outputContent(Array) #2 /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/modx/core/model/modx/modmanagerrequest.class.php(128): modManagerRequest->prepareResponse() #3 /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/modx/manager/index.php(75): modManagerRequest->handleRequest() #4 {main} thrown in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/modx/core/model/modx/modmanagerresponse.class.php on line 191

    I have MAMP 3.5, PHP 7.0, and cache module is off. The setup created a config.inc.php file, if that's what's supposed to happen. The php.ini file was also set up appropriately. All directories and files that should be are writable as well.

    Thanks in advance for the help!

        I get though the install options, database setup, user/pass setup, and I get all "green" on the installation summary.

        I click on install on the installation summary then the following page says "Core installation was successful. Click next to complete the installation process."

        The next page says "Thank you for installing MODX Revolution. Please select the 'Login' button to access the management interface."

        I click on the login button and that's when I get the white screen and the PHP error.

          Check the paths and URLs in the core/config/config.inc.php file and the core path in the three config.core.php files (MODX root, connectors, and manager folders).

              This could be an issue with PHP 7.

                I don't believe I didn't try this....I switched to 5.6 and it works like a charm. Thanks!

                      It could be an issue with PHP 7, or it could be a problem with the DB credentials in core/config/config.inc.php or the DB itself.

                      The message is saying that MODX couldn't retrieve the resource with the ID 1 from the database.

                      You might check the DB to make sure there is such a resource (in the modx_site_content table), and that it's published.
