Hello,
Installed Login package, but register form allows duplicate emails and doesn't send activation link.
I need your help.
thanks
Ok you are getting closer then. Pls check in your users list in the manager and see if the user is being created, first of all. If they are, if the snippet can create users, then you are close for sure. If you are still having trouble, you may consider the 'subscribe' snippet.
I think you figured out login mostly, its a pain to be honest, you need several different resources with different snippets in them. These two lines require the resource numbers to be right and those resources must be published with the proper snippets in them:
&activationResourceId=`12`
&submittedResourceId=`45`
Pls make sure those are both ok.
If you can now make users from the front end with this form, then you only need to fix the problems of duplicate email and sending the email.
For duplicate email, there is a value is system settings for this, you can allow when testing and then not allow later. Sorry i don't know the name of it, but i used it last time I went through this process.
For not sending activation email, this can be caused in many ways, so its trickier to figure out. For now, are users being created?
Ah, found a couple of system setting values you need:
Allow Duplicate Emails for Users
Registration Email From Address

You could use a custom validator to make sure that the email is unique
https://rtfm.modx.com/extras/revo/login/login.register#Login.Register-CustomValidators
&validate=`email:email:emailExists:required`
&customValidators=`emailExists`
The custom validator snippet 'emailExists' could do a simple query (adapted from the Manager's create user validation function at line 99 of core/model/modx/processors/security/user/_validation.php)
The snippet code would look something like this (not tested):
$submittedEmail = $scriptProperties['value']; // I'm not real sure about this part
$emailExists = $modx->getObject('modUserProfile',array('email' => $submittedEmail));
if ($emailExists) {
return 'Email already in use!';
} else {
return true;
}
One easy thing to try is to install the
QuickEmail snippet. It's designed to diagnose email problems. If it sends the test email, you know your problem is with the Register snippet. If not, it may tell you what the problem is.
Hello BobRay I would like to inform you that I'm still need your help about sending email.
i already installed QuickEmail package but I still have a problem(after signing the user doesn't receive an email and have received failed emails to my email address I used to create modx account.
Thank you.
