I have a few questions. I am working on a website and it is for a realtor. They bought a system for searching mls properties. I have the website at www.domain.com and the system which they have on their servers is www.domain1.com. The system they bought has a slideshow and featured listings and all that good stuff. I haven’t dealt with integrating 2 sites with each other. I have read about iframes. Is this my only option or do I have other choices

Im struggling to answer anything from your post?
An iFrame just takes the content from a url and inserts it within the iframe, is this what you want?

ok I guess I didn’t clarify that very well. I have iframed content. Is it possible to have it so when anyone clicks on a link that is from within the iframe that it opens in a new window?

        Thanks

do you mean - simply - using target="_blank" within the link i.e

          <a href="somelink" target="_blank">opens in new window</a>

No when I click on links in the iframe the content in the iframe loads what I clicked on. I was wondering if when I click a link that is within the iframe it opens a new window instead of reloading in the iframe itself. If that makes sense. I have tried target="_blank" and target="_top", but I can’t seem to get it to work.

what you are asking, (if I am correct in understanding) is that if you click a link in the iframe, then a new browser window opens - this is done by using _blank - can you post the code of what you have tried? as I fail to understand why this isn’t working.

I would imagine that it’s opening a new window in the iframe, not a totally new window in the browser. I believe there is a way to break a page out of an iframe, but I don’t know how offhand.

I did run across this; don’t know if it really does what you want or not.
But if you target a frame that doesn’t exist, the browsers will open a brand new browser Window. For example, you can target a frame called "new_page". Because that frame name doesn’t exist, the browser will open the link in a new window, and call that window "new_page".

ah I see. I was getting confused about what the original poster has been asking.

using javascript to open a new browser window will do it.

Do you happen to know the javascript code I can use to get that done?
