A HURRAH and a question re:path after site launch

ok first of all..... I FINALLY HAVE MY OWN REVO SITE!!!

Secondly.

After launching. I suddenly had all of my Extras go insane. By that I mean that Formit appeared in an odd place and nothing was installed anymore and then though on the front end all worked, the Articles container was empty, my SEO Tabs vanished etc.

I figured it out. I uninstalled and reinstalled and optimized and repaired tables and cleared caches and finally looked at my console. my components folder for manager/assets was now in my assets

no components under manager/assets.

now as I vigourously installed and reinstalled trying to fix before I checked to see if it was plugged in.....

I'm going to assume this is a path setting. somewhere. for extras. I've looked at the system settings and looked at the core settings and dont want to make a boo boo.

which one is it? I'll google etc but thought one of you gurus might know off the top of your head.

I'm not aware of any manager/assets/ for components. Component assets are supposed to be in assets/components/. All you should have in manager/assets are the extjs and other javascript library folders.

It's more likely that when you moved the site you also moved the core/cache/ folders, and need to manually delete those core/cache/ folders, as well as make sure that your browser cache and cookies are cleared.

however the extras seemed to be looking for the files under manager/assets and when I moved it, it fixed it?

so, respectfully, I hear you and ....need to figure this out.

Check the paths and URLs in the core/config/config.inc.php file -- especially the MODX_ASSETS_PATH.

thanks Bob. I will. if that were messed up wouldnt it affect my rte uploads etc?

I think those are governed by Media Source paths. At any rate, it's worth checking because I can't think of anything else that would make an extra look in manager/assets. It normally has nothing but ext3, modExt, and some flash stuff.
