Calendar Option for 2.4.2

After upgrading to version 2.4.2 I have had problems installing or using any of the calendar plug-ins. Are there any workarounds or new options available?

Were running 2.3.x (upgrading soon) so not absolutely sure it's compatible with 2.4.x but the only Calendar solution we somewhat like is migxCalendars, though it's never been officially released as an Extra as far as we can tell.

It's quite an involved setup process.

There was evidence of coming Calendar extension in this blog post: http://modx.com/blog/2014/09/30/collections-easily-customizable-admin-views-for-content-types/

But that was coming soon a year ago so no idea if it will ever see the light of day.

migxCalendars is based on MIGXdb. It is working on 2.4.x , too.

If you don't need that frontend-editing-stuff, the setup should be a bit easier.
There isn't an officially release, mainly because of missing documentation.
