I see that you can associate a dashboard to a user, and that if they have more than one associated to them it will use the one associated to their primary group. But how can you allow the user to switch between dashboards? This seems like basic useful functionality that should be there, but maybe I'm missing it?

I can create a CMP but then I loose access to widgets I've already defined. Is there a way that I can create links to other dashboards from a widget maybe? It doesn't seem like it's possible though since there are no URL parameters shown when you go to the dashboard.

dashboards are bound to the users primary-group.
By default there is no way to load other dashboards.

Might be possible to create a custom - welcome.class.php within a custom-manager-theme and modify or extend the process-method.

Thanks for the feedback. I see in the welcome class where it's loading the dashboard. I'd have to track back further to see where the dashboard is set and if there's any hook I could access. But for now, the answer is effectively, no, there is no way to switch dashboards smiley

The only way around it that might work that I can think of:

        1. Create a User Group for each Dashboard the user should have access to (Dashboard 1, Dashboard 2, etc.)
        2. Create a dashboard widget that allows them to switch their primary group
        3. Their permissions would come form a separate group and the dashboard groups could be used just to specify the default

The only impact I'm not sure of is what the primary group identification is used for. It looks like maybe it is only used for dashboard identification?

As said, I think with a custom manager-theme, where you have only a custom welcome.class.php in which you load another dashboard-object into
this.dashboard in your process-method, depending on a request-param, it could be made possible.
