    Modx 2.4.2

The template variables that I have set to display in 3 columns stopped working. They were just working. Then they stopped. Not I can only see the items in the first column.
Changing Safari to full screen view allows for a portion of the second column to be seen— as in a check box and a portion of the words. The third column is nowhere to be seen.

I've cleared my MODx cache, cleared my browser cache, logged in and out, and still the TVs are not displaying in columns.

I did edit one of the TVs – changing Columns from 1 to 3. All items for that TV then displayed in the manager. After changing the Columns back to 3 — they no longer display properly.

    Sidenote:
I made another post about an hour and a half ago related to this issue and titled it: "Lost several columns of my checkbox TVs"
Unable to find anything in the forum related to my issue, using every combination of terms I could think of, I did a search for my very own previous post—a.k.a "Lost several columns of my checkbox TVs" and found that my post is nowhere in the search results.

    • The search here is notoriously bad. Three things you can do. If it's your post, check your Profile, it will give you a list of your posts. If it's a recent post, use the View Latest Posts button near the top of the page. Otherwise, use Google with "site:forums.modx.com keywords".

      • While investigating another poster's question dealing with checkbox TVs, I did multiple columns OK in Firefox, but the text overlapped the checkboxes in some cases. We can thank ExtJS.

          Hi Susan:

Hope you're doing well. Thanks for responding. Yes — the forum is pretty frustrating. Lately it seems I can find anything and everything, and tons of it — except for what I am searching for.

I was just working on my site, and I have a bunch of TVs with checkboxes, and since some of the checkbox lists are rather long, I put them into 3 columns. They have worked fine for a long time until earlier this evening—and I have no idea why.

The issue is occurring in Safari AND Firefox. Will give google Chrome a try. However, any browser issue does not explain why they stopped working while editing. It's not like I upgraded or changed browser and then the problem occurred. I was literally on the page making edits, click to another resource, came back then to the TVs and the columns were all messed up.

Would manually deleting my core/cache be recommended.

            • Could it be that your browser did an automatic update of some kind? Sounds like a styling issue.

Using Inspect Element, I see that my overlap issue is because the ExtJS div element for these checkboxes has inline styling of 60px but no directive for handling overflow, so the text of the previous box's label over laps the next one's checkbox.

As to why yours should be spaced so far apart, I don't know. The elements themselves have a padding-left of 105px inline, but then an override of padding-left of 0 !important later in the CSS files. There is also another directive for the class with a padding-left of 105, also overridden by the !important one. At that point I started getting a headache.

              • Deleting core/cache is always a good try.

I'll deleted the core/cache and still no luck. Initially, the 3 columns were visible — but pretty spaced out. When I resize my browser window, the columns do not move closer to each other. Rather, the far right hand column disappears.

I'm on Mac and do not have auto update. I manually OK each update. I did update safari on nov 11. However, I was just working on the site in question earlier this evening and all was fine. Very very odd.

I guess I can set everything to be 1 column. Yikes! Some have long lists of checkboxes.

Thanks for jumping in to provide assistance.

Something very strange is going on. I just tried google chrome, and my site won't even load. Actually — no sites will load in Google Chrome. Only thing that loads is a page stating: This webpage is not available ERR_ACCESS_DENIED

So now I have an error in the MODx error log:
(ERROR @ /connectors/lang.js.php) Error caching lexicon topic lexicon/en/core/resource

Not sure if this is related or just a temporary glitch from all the cache clearing and clicking around to try an figure out what's gone awry with my TV columns.
