    Hi there,

I discovered that user registration email send with MODX are caught as spam by hotmail, even when all of my DKIM and SPF's passes (see result below). I use sendgrid.net to send the emails.

One of the last things I am trying to avoid hotmail sending these mails to the junkfolder, is to add a plain text alternative to the e-mail (according to http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/Rules/MIME_HTML_ONLY). Although I would like to keep the html emails as well, does anybody know how to add a text/plain alternative to the HTML mails which are being send by MODX?

Mail diagnostics (from www.isnotspam.com and www.mail-tester.com):
    SPF Check : pass
    Sender-ID Check : pass
    DomainKeys Check : neutral
    DKIM Check : pass
    SpamAssassin Check : ham (non-spam)

Is this when using the Login Registration snippet, or when creating users in the Manager?

The Login changelog says that this was added to version 1.7.0
        - Add alternative plaintext email option for ability to send both html and plaintext in emails

I don't see any documentation for it, though.

I'm not sure how to add a plain text alternative, but one thing I've noticed with Mandrill is that if you enable click tracking it will rewrite urls, which is then seen as a sign for spam because the shown link is different from where you'll end up going. Maybe SendGrid does something similar?

Thanks for pointing this out Susan! That was exactly what I was looking for. After some investigation I found the commit (https://github.com/splittingred/Login/pull/48). Turned out I only have to add
            &emailTplAlt=`ForgotPasswordEmailTplAlt`
to my ForgotPassword-call. Now Login sends a nice multipart email! And now Hotmail doesn't flag the email as spam anymore! I'm amazed this is what Hotmail wants to see.

This really should be added to the RTFM by the way.

Also, thanks for your response Mark.
