When updating to the latest version 2.4.2 via control panel's softalicious section the admin area comes up blank when clicking on the menus. For example the Resources / Elements / Files does not appear. Have had to revert to back up. Please advise.

Hi Paul:
You might try running the update again. If after updating the issue is still occurring, try deleting the contents of core/cache. I had similar weird stuff happen with one softaculous update, and manually deleting the contents of the core/cache seemed to resolve the issue.
Not sure whether required or not with softaculous, but I now delete the contents in core/cache before I run the an update.
If mmcgee's suggestion doesn't work log into phpmyadmin and change the values of compress_css and compress_js from 1 to 0
