I just upgraded to 2.4.2 and everything seems to work perfectly, with one important exception: I can't save any pages/resources, even when logged in as the default admin user. When I try to save, I get the modal popup with the progress bar animation, but it never stops. If I right-click on an existing resource in the tree and try to publish/unpublish, duplicate, or delete, I get a popup error message: "Access Denied."

I can save everything else (plugins, snippets, chunks, templates, template variables) with no problems.

I've disabled all plugins, re-enabled them, and re-disabled them several times. I've cleared the cache several times. I've deleted the cache several times.

    Anything else I should try?

Update: After flushing permissions, I can use the right-click menu to publish/unpublish, delete/undelete. I still can't save the resources though.

I'll also mention that I have a clean (empty) install of the same version of MODX on the same server which is able to save the resources without any problem. That gives me some hope, but it doesn't give me any clue as to where to find the problem on the upgraded instance.

Sounds like a bad upgrade. How did you transfer the new files? Have you cleared your browser cache and cookies? A stubbornly cached javascript file in the browser can cause problems like this.

I think I've ruled out browser cache and cookies. I've tried it in several browsers, before and after clearing cache and cookies.

In terms of the upgrade process, I went through the recommended directory merging process, then ran the setup script.

Ok, after checking and re-checking everything over and over again, I re-ran the installer, and that seems to have fixed it. I'm not sure what happened differently the second time around, but I guess as long as it's fixed, I won't dwell on it.

On some servers when you use FTP and create folders you dont give folder right permissions, and that can be one of the issues
