Answered Getting a Resource with TV's to Display inside another Resource?

Hi,

I have a small events site and have TV's set up to create event pages (mysite.com/eventname), but I then want to also place the event name and date from a second resource on my index.html. Is there a way to take a full resource page with tv's (name and date in this e.g.) and insert it into another resource such as index.html?

I'm new to modx, so I'm guessing it's possible, but I don't have the right terminology to find the answer.

There are a number of ways to do this. You can use getResources (or pdoResources) to output a single resource. You can use a custom snippet. You can use FastField (or the built-in version of the FastField parser included by installing pdoTools).

The best way to go would depend on how many of these you want displayed on your home page, and exactly how much of the second resource's output you want to display.

Thanks. I may look into this one as for whatever reason I can't figure out why new resources are returning a 404, when all my legacy pages from my old site work.
