    So, MODX is driving me nuts.

    Even though my website is working fine ( well almost…), the manager is not.

    I’ve got several issues.:
    Some resources won’t save…. Same for chuncks and TV variable. Some TVs would not even be displayed on the live website….
    I can’t even say why...

    I have checked many topic on the forum but nothing worked (modsecurity, clear the cache, upgrade/downgrade )… and I am frankly out of idea and desperate.

    The strange thing is I am starting to have the same issue on other MODX powered website.

    First of all, I wanted to ask, is there any developer that could help ( even if I have to pay)? Someone experience.

    Also, is anyone experiencing the same issue ?

    Even if I have donated to MODX, and believed in it…. there are days like this, I just wished I had chose wordpress over MODX…. Sorry but it’s true.

      With the Wordpress virus in town that does not even cross my mind in hindsight.

      carlo_13, sorry for your troubles.
      What tangible errors are you receiving?
      ....in your MODx/server error log and browser devtools
        TinymceWrapper: Complete back/frontend content solution.
        Harden your MODX site by passwording your three main folders: core, manager, connectors and renaming your assets (thank me later!)
        5 ways to sniff / hack your own sites; even with renamed/hidden folders, burst them all up, to see how secure you are not.

        Hi @donshakespeare,

        Thanks for your answer.

        Well it is not an error I am receiving. On some template, resources or chuncks, when I hit SAVE, it keeps loading forever...

        Specially the one with css styling and classes.

        I don't think it comes from a firewall issue or server config. Cause I move the site to another server, it didn't solve the issue...

        I am using MODX 2.3.6 and Apache Linux.

            Couple ideas:

            1. Are you using a code editor? Try disabling all Plugins that fire on Manager events and see if that helps.
            2. Check Chrome Dev Tools or Firebug etc to see which request it's hanging on. You should see some manager action url being requested, like "getlist" or something. Ensure the Access Policy that your user is running with has permissions for that manager action. Sometimes on upgrades the Access Policies get corrupted. You can tell by the fact that it'll have "0 of 173" permissions enabled...something like that.

              Hello.

              @SepiaRiver: Thanks, I will try that.

              Ok I think a part of my code on the template is causing issue, which is:
              <script src="XXBOOTSTRAPSTUFFX"></script>
              <script src="XXBOOTSTRAPSTUFFX"></script>
              <script src="XXBOOTSTRAPSTUFFX"></script>
              <script type="text/javascript" src="XXBOOTSTRAPSTUFFX"></script>
              <script type="text/javascript" src="XXBOOTSTRAPSTUFFX"></script>
              <script>
              $('.popoverData').popover({html: true});
              $('.popoverOption').popover({ trigger: "hover"});

              </script>
              <script>
              var $poped = $('.popoverData');
              $poped.popover();

              // Trigger for the popover
              $poped.each(function() {
                  var $this = $(this);
                  $this.on('hover',function() {
                          var popover = $this.data('popover');
                          var shown = popover && popover.tip().is(':visible');
                          if(shown) return;        // Avoids flashing
                          $this.popover('show');
                  });
              });

              // Trigger for the hiding
               $('html').on('click.popover.data-api',function() {
                  $poped.popover('hide');
              });
              </script>
              <script>
                  // very simple to use!
                  $(document).ready(function() {
                    $('.js-activated').dropdownHover().dropdown();
                  });
              </script>

              When I remove it, I am able to save the template.

              Does this has anything to do with the fact that mysqpl is mixed with UTF8 and Latin ?

              Is my MODX install corrupted?

                You have to fix the mixed collations and change all to UTF8 in the database (the database itself, tables and fields). Some query with 'like' won't work without according to the error message.

                  See this for more information on converting the character set: http://bobsguides.com/convert-db-utf8.html. The script provided there has not been tested on the current version of MODX, so I can't guarantee that it will work.

                  Important: back up the database before running it so you can revert if it doesn't work.

                    Hi Bob.

                    I have tried you script ( Quick and Daring Method ), unfortunately it broke the website. No worries, I had a backup smiley .
                    Thanks anyway for your help.

                    I tried to export/import the website with ThemePackagerComponent.
                    Ok, so it works fine on localhost and I can save everything, but I am having the same issue on my dedicated server....

                    Modsecurity is deactivated on my server, do you know any other apache module that may cause issue ? Can CloudFlare be the problem ?

                    Thanks
                      Webdesigner and musician.

                      The way you describe it, it does sound a lot like mod security. CloudFlare also has similar features in its web application firewall.. usually best to ignore /manager/ and /connectors/ with their page rules.
