    Bit of a beginner question, but having made a simple MIGX form I discovered I had to put field captions in the TV description, rather than the TV caption field. Is there a specific reason for this? Seems a bit odd, counter-intuitive.

      not sure, what you are talking about.
      caption is for caption, description for description, isn't it?

      what's your formtabs-code currently?

      And you do not need to have 'helper' - TVs.
      In most cases, you can define everything with an inputTVtype instead of using a helper-TV and inputTV

        In my case I have an image TV because to the best of my knowledge one is required if you want to specify a media source. As I have one I thought it best to provide a tooltip to show the admin how large an image is preferred, so I went to put in a caption but nothing happened. I managed to make the text appear by moving it from Caption to Description, which seems wrong.

        Thanks for the speedy response, Bruno.

          just tested with

              {"field":"image","inputTV":"image"},

          and this is working. If you define a caption within the formtabs, it is using this one.

          but you can also define everything within the formtabs like:

          {"field":"image2","caption":"Image","inputTVtype":"image","sourceFrom":"config","sources":"[{\"MIGX_id\":\"1\",\"context\":\"web\",\"sourceid\":\"3\"},{\"MIGX_id\":\"2\",\"context\":\"de\",\"sourceid\":\"3\"}]"}

          but its easier to set this up within the MIGX-configurator-CMP and use the config-name in the 'configurations' - fields of the MIGX_TV and let the formtabs and columns empty, then.

            I'm sorry, I think I've wasted your time. I got confused because I had a TV prepared with a media source and the caption came from the formtabs code. When I wanted to put in a but of subtext to describe the field in more detail (a tooltip of sorts) I first tried the caption of the TV itself because I automatically assumed the main caption was the name of the field or something.

            But I see now that in the case of a normal TV on a resource the caption is the field title, and the description is the lighter text in italic that appears alongside, if specified. I attach an image for clarity, but I realise now this has all been a waste of everybody's time.

            Apologies.

            I suppose I am now curious to know if I can specify the *description* using the migx formtabs code, in addition to the main field caption.

              sure

              {"field":"image","inputTVtype":"image","caption":"Image","description":"about 500px wide is best"}
