What PHP libraries does the CAPTCHA codes require?

I’m installing MODx on a brand new web server... which php libraries does the CAPTCHA code use to generate its images? I thought it might have been the GD library, but I installed that, and no luck... anyone know which library I need to install on my server?

Most likely, you need FreeType.

I just had this same issue over the weekend...you need GD library and FreeType library:
