I’m having a bit of an issue with Captcha working on Jot...it’s not producing an image at all. So I entered the full path to the veriword.php file (
http://testsite.my619.com/manager/includes/veriword.php?rand=512257299) and I’m getting this error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagettfbbox() in /home/admin/public_html/testsite/manager/includes/veriword.php on line 126
Anyone seen this before? The file itself (veriword.php) has permissions "755" and the includes directory is also "755"
The document it’s called on is "cacheable" and here is the Jot call:
[!Jot? &customfields=`name,email` &subscribe=`1` &pagination=`20` &badwords=`dotNet` &moderated=`1` &canmoderate=`Jot Moderators` ¬ify=`2` &subjectModerate=`New Comment Added to Your Blog` &tplNotifyModerator=`notify_moderator` &captcha=`1` &css=`0` !]
The path to the file I gave above doesn’t actually go to anything...I just removed the actual file path for this posting b/c the actual site is offline (so the search engines don’t pick up on it yet).

imagegettfbbox() is a php function.
If you google php imagegetttfbbox, the first result is the manual page for that page which indicates:
"This function requires both the GD library and the » FreeType library. "
So, the error message you’re getting means that your host has at least one of those disabled. If you go (in the MODx Manager) to Reports | System info and then click on the "view" link next to phpinfo(), you can see the state of the GD stuff.
Then talk to your hosting service about getting it turned on.

Hey BobRay,
Thanks for the response. It’s funny now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve ever had a site on this particular server (VPS) that’s needed Capatcha so I guess I never realized things may not be configured correctly thus rendering this error. I’ll call them right now about this.
Attached is a screenshot of the GD settings. I didn’t seen anything about the "FreeType library"... I’ll call and ask about that too. I’ll post my response shortly...thanks!

A missing FreeType lib is a really common cause of CAPTCHA failure.
I’m glad it worked out.
