    This week Hostmonster updated some of their servers to PHP 5.6. This has caused four of my sites to have problems.

    Attempting to log in to the manager results in the error "invalid user ID & PW" and the Request a new PW doesn't work. After setting PHP back to 5.4 and the problem went away. There were assorted front-end problems as well.

    The sites are on Modx 2.4.1, 2.4.0, 2.3.5 and 2.3.2.

    I found these errors repeating over and over in the Modx error log, over 2800 lines on one site.
    [2015-11-05 18:58:13] (ERROR @ /manager/index.php) Error preparing statement for query: SELECT `modSession`.`id` AS `modSession_id`, `modSession`.`access` AS `modSession_access`, `modSession`.`data` AS `modSession_data` FROM `modx_session` AS `modSession` WHERE `modSession`.`id` = ?  -
    [2015-11-05 18:58:14] (ERROR in xPDOConnection::connect @ /home2/xxxxxxxx/public_html/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php : 3043) could not find driver

    Does Modx have a problem with PHP 5.6?

    I assume I won't be able to, nor should I, keep these at 5.4. Any recommendations?

      That message seems to indicate that the PHP PDO driver for your database type isn't available.

      I'd get with your host's technical support and ask them to make sure that the PDO driver for the database type you're using (probably MySQL) is enabled in their PHP 5.6 build.
