Answered All components in file tree...gone?

Hi, I just found I have some problem with my Modx 2.2.14. I went to edit one of my components, and the tree at core/components is almost empty! Where there used to be like 10 or more folders, there is exactly one now (hitspage).

I just did some editing on my Discuss install several weeks ago without trouble, so this is something new. And I haven't updated or done anything else than a little css and content editing for a template. Manager actions only show that, I was not messing with anything serious so I don't think I have caused this problem.

At least some of the components still do work, so the files must be there. Why are they not in the tree? Can anyone assist?

I do have a repeated error (below) but it seems related to Discuss and seems to also have been happening well before this new problem. Again, I edited the very files I now can't even see, just less than a month ago. I can find this error going back for 2 months.

Ok we are working on this, the files all seem to be there, but the paths have changed (in the filesystem tree, not on the server I believe).

I am making a new post with a better title to try and understand what on earth happened here. My kind admin is fixing now

My working theory is that because the paths changed so the attachments are not where the links are pointing. But this is a bit mystifying.
