I hope there are some Simplecart users out there who can answer these 'is this possible' questions for me. I don't need to know all the details how to do it, but just if it would be possible and roughly by what means (maybe if you have done it yourself).
1) Adding tv's to each product and using these for a filter / faceted search on the frontend. (for example a tv 'Color'. Users can filter the products by selecting the color 'blue' in a faceted search kind of way, and only blue products will be shown). This is different than the product options I think (that's for selecting a color when buying an item). I think this would be possible by attaching tv's to the product template and using those values for the facets on the frontend. Am I correct?
2) Having multiple editors edit parts of the webshop. I have a webshop with a lot of different manufacturers. They all need to be able to add and edit products in their own categories. Would it be possible to just use the default MODX ACL for this?
3) Being able to show related products for a product. Could I just do this with a TV as well?
4) The products should have a price, but payment is not done through the webshop. The users should receive an email with their order and the final price, in this email payment information should be manually provided. Is this possible?
Thanks for any help!
Michèlle
Off the top of my head yes all that is possible.
Just use resource groups to restrict access to categories.
The only thing that wasn't possible for me out of the box was only allowing one of each type to be added to the shopping cart due to selling unique artworks. I fixed that by commenting out the function in a hacky way but that feature may have been added by now. Modmore has released a lot of updates since.
Simplecart is good

Thanks Murray for already commenting on this
SimpleCart managed products and categories with custom resources, so anything you could do with standard resources you can do with those.
For the manual payment information you can use the included "Bank Transfer" payment method - that's really just a dummy gateway that instantly marks the order as paid. You can include a hidden input on the page to skip the payment gateway selection step entirely too.
For future reference, we now have a dedicated SimpleCart forum at
https://forum.modmore.com/c/simplecart as well. When you post there, we're more likely to see it, though in this case a google alert for "modmore" caught my attention as well
Thank you both Murray and Mark! I thought and hoped that SimpleCart could fulfill these requirements, but it's great to have some confirmation. I don't need the ability to allow only one of each type to be added so that's easy.
Thanks for the tip Mark on the Bank Transfer method and skipping that step. I think that's perfect for our needs.
I'll have a look at the dedicated forum as well, didn't know it was there. Glad I added the word 'modmore' to the topic title! ;-)
