    Hi All,

I’ve just installed modx to convert a site to it and have created a a TV so that the client can upload a product image for each new page and it will display on the main list page.

Now I have done this a few times on other sites however for some reason it doesn’t work on this site.

When I create the document I scroll to the bottom and click the img link, this opens the new window and I browse to the image I want ( it’s 8kb and have tried with jpg and gif ), I then click upload and the status bar appears however it never completes and just doesn’t upload the image.

Tried setting the chmod to 777 but still doesn’t work.

Has anyone come across this before and can offer assistance ??

    Thanks

EDIT: I’ve just tried this in IE and got the following error

    invalid XML response from connector

    Anyone got any ideas ??

Are you sure that server is configured to allow file uploads? Check the Reports -> System Info, and click the View link for phpinfo(). In the second block, Configuration PHP Core, make sure file_uploads is set to on.

        Hi Thanks for the reply,

I can confirm that file_uploads is set to On

Is there anything else that could cause this ??

Hmm... sometimes I got errors like that if my /etc/php.ini was set to limit PHP memory to something small, but I think the default was 8mb, not 8kb...

Are you sure the permissions on the target directory on the web server are good? What permissions exactly did you change to 777?

I’ve had a similar problem of not being able to upload anything to the assets folder via modx. But just this min stumbled across this post. This may help you:

              Hi

              Thanks for the responses,

I’ve tried the suggestions but none fix the problem.

I changet the assets folder to 777 and the 2 folders that I created to 777, apart from that I haven’t changed anything from the default install.

I’ve also been told today that another client site that is due to go live have the same error message "invalid XML response from connector". This site is hosted on another server along with other sites that dont have the problem.

              Could anyone advise please ??
