Answered Sudden FormIt Error

    Revo 2.4.2
    FormIt 2.2.7

    After recently upgrading both Revo and FormIt I'm getting the following error when submitting a form:

    An error occurred while trying to send the email. The following From address failed: [email protected] : Called MAIL FROM without being connected,,,SMTP server error: Called MAIL FROM without being connectedSMTP server error: Called MAIL FROM without being connected

    The form has 3 fields:
    Name
    Email
    Message

    I have not changed the SMTP or any other system settings for that matter, so I'm not sure if this is a MODX issue or if something has changed on the server I'm unaware of. I would appreciate any insight or suggestions.

      It looks like FormIt 2.2.7 doesn't play nice with the host's default PHP 5.6 configuration. Reverting to PHP 5.5 seems to have solved the problem.

        That's strange... I have several installations on 5.6.10 as well as 5.6.12 (MODXCloud) and FormIt appears to be fine. Have you tried QuickEmail in debug mode to test your email connection? Also double-check your System Settings to make sure your SMTP setting are correct.

          System Settings haven't been touched.

          On this particular host the default module config. between 5.6 and 5.5 is not identical so I'm going to assume the problem lies in there somewhere.

          As long as it works (under 5.5) the client isn't going to pay me to investigate further.
