    Hi all

Today a guy called me and asked if I could help in rebuilding his business site. He has just started this company with a friend, and they had a webdesigner do a website for him. Unfortunately he weren’t very satisfied, and has now asked me.

The thing is that this site basically just works like a bridge between people looking for jobs, and people offering jobs.
It’s free for the person looking for a job submit a CV, and the company then has to pay a certain amount to get access to it. Pretty basic, and seen a million times before, but I’ve never seen a site like that in Modx.
So, my question is, how would you guys approach this? I immediately started of by thinking of eForm and its ’post to database’ options. But then, since this will more or less be the core functionality of the site, I was wondering whether eForm is ’strong’ enough to handle this? Let’s say that this company gets popular and then all of a sudden has 2500+ users, will eForm be capable of handling that?

Thanks for reading all this, larsb

Of course. eForm is just the form input handling snippet. The part you’ll have to deal with is displaying the data. Probably a good candidate for some fancy searchable, sortable Ajax data grids. The A to Z listing snippet might be useful as well. Actually, this sort of site isn’t really difficult as long as you understand the database; data in, data out. Nothing to it.

I did a similar site in MODx a while back. A little different - agents submit resumes via a front-end form, and on the back end, administrators view and edit the resume info, and flag it for publishing. If published, the resume becomes available in a little front-end resume search app.
I would imagine that eForm could handle processing the resume forms for you, but I just roll my own form-processing snippets because eForm never seems to fit my requirements. I modelled the resume data in xPDO, so the form processing code, and all code that deals with the data is object-oriented. I really like working with custom data this way in MODx.

I can’t remember how well you can customize the form in Newspublisher. If that worked, you could use NP and Ditto.

eForm2DB and WebloginPE are two other possibilities but neither is very mature.
